The 36 lessons in this 12-unit program are designed to enhance students’ writing abilities, motivate them to become literate, informed citizens, and  provide them with an intellectual climate for the exchange of journalistic ideas and ideals. The lessons introduce students to basic journalism concepts, and the accompanying DVD of interviews with senior USA TODAY reporters and editors reinforces those concepts.

 

1. Components

 

Lesson CD 12 units (total of 36 lessons). Each lesson includes a student and a teacher edition. The teacher edition provides step-by-step instructions and time parameters.

 

Journalist interviews DVD (sold separately) - A DVD of interviews with USA TODAY reporters, editors, multimedia specialists and staff, providing a behind-the-scenes look at journalistic theory and practice. Each interview corresponds to a particular unit.
