Intensive Reading

This standards-based program improves struggling readers’ reading ability and higher-order thinking skills by providing instruction and guided practice in using effective reading strategies. The teacher’s edition guides teachers in modeling the reading strategies and in helping students practice pre-reading, during-reading and post-reading techniques that strengthen their metacognition and metacomprehension. The program’s lessons are designed to be used with any issue of USA TODAY.

3. GradAtions® GradAtions is a Web-based intelligent tutor, created by Intelligent Automations, for the development of reading comprehension skills and for learning new information from text. Based on cognitive models of reading and learning, GradAtions utilizes summarization to improve comprehension and to measure how well a learner understands the information.
