This standards-based program improves struggling readers’ reading ability and higher-order thinking skills by providing instruction and guided practice in using effective reading strategies. The teacher’s edition guides teachers in modeling the reading strategies and in helping students practice pre-reading, during-reading and post-reading techniques that strengthen their metacognition and metacomprehension.
