Divide the class into four groups, assigning a section of the newspaper to each group. Have each group find an article about an individual or company that piques their interest.

Using paper or the class board, have each group identify the following items from the content:

· Why did you choose the article? (Possibly photo? Chart? Graphic? Subject?)

· Cite two interesting facts from the article.

· List at least two words from the content that are important to understanding the topic, and explain their significance.

· What did you learn from this article that you didn’t know before you read the article?

Now, list other resources about this topic:

· Where could you look for more data in the library?

· What online resources could you use to learn more?

· List at least two questions you would ask the reporter or the subject of the article.

· Name two people you know who could help you learn more about this topic.
