AP High School Classes Learning from USA TODAY

I am using USA TODAY with 12th grade classes: I team teach AP language and AP government for students who have never taken an AP course. Students are keeping scrap books of important news stories not only to improve their understanding of government actions, but also to serve as a piece of history for themselves. We have used political cartoons to study the language usage (words and illustrations) and the political message as a springboard to students creating their own.
